What is Elliptical?
Elliptical is the natural state of a creative mind, and by fortuitous coincidence, it is also the name of our wine club, the Elliptical Society. Though Elliptical describes the vast motion of the planets themselves, Elliptical is also micro - very micro in our case, as most of our wines are sold to our wine club.

Meanwhile, we offer more details of the privileges and perquisites of Elliptical Society membership, to wit:
At this time the club is limited to approximately 1,850 members. There is a natural limitation on the size of the Elliptical Society because Le Cuvier itself has limited production to fewer than 3,215 cases per year.
As an Elliptical member, you are entitled to:
- Fall and Spring shipments of 6 bottles with 20% discount
- Free wine tasting and passed hors d’oeuvres for you and two guests.
- Free Spring and Fall new release parties at the winery, featuring passed hors d’oeuvres prepared by Bistro Laurent, for you and two guests
- Deeper discounts on wine pack purchases, as stipulated under our Exclusive "Bribe" policy* (see below for details)
In addition, winery events - dinners, festival weekend celebrations, and bacchanalia of other sorts - are reserved only for Elliptical members and their guests. They are typically truly intimate affairs. For example, dinners at Las Puertas Ellipticas, the home of owners John Munch and Mary Fox, are limited to 22 guests; seminars, blind tastings, and other hands-on gatherings limited to 24 guests.
A yearly Calendar of Events is published on-line and mailed to Elliptical members each January. Members are encouraged to sign up immediately for their preferred events, as they are known to sell out quickly.
* Le Cuvier's Exclusive Bribe Policy. In a shameless effort to enlist our club members as proselytizers of the Elliptical way of life, members may avail of themselves deeper discounts on their club pack purchases by referring new members to us. Here's how it works:
- For each friend you sponsor to join the Elliptical Society, & who purchases a wine club pack, you will enjoy a 20% discount off the cost of a subsequent Elliptical Shipment. This discount* is in addition to your normal 20% Elliptical Shipment discount, providing you with an extraordinarily prodigious 40% off. *(Discount applies to the shipment after the "recruit's" first club pack purchase).
- Moreover, if you were so persuasive as to induce 3 friends to join & purchase club packs during a season, your extended discount would be for the maximum of 80% off the next applicable shipment.
- As it would be unlawful for us to give away wine, additional referrals would be "rolled over" to the next club shipment.
- At the risk of creating a pyramid scheme, the friends whom you sponsor to the Elliptical Society may also avail themselves of this bribe by inducing their own friends to join. There is, of course, no fee for joining the Elliptical Society, so your friends would simply be receiving the same twice-a-year Elliptical Shipments & other lovely Elliptical Benefits which you now receive.
