Multi-vintage Viognier – Spring Club Pack New Release - Imperial Topaz encased in Baltic amber, honeyed-hay slathered on sliced green apple with musky jasmine blossom, pungent honeysuckle, ripe pineapple & cinnamon poached Bosc pear; yes, & bits of quince floating in Jamaican rum dusted with green cardamom. Decidedly a fruit compote, so look for creamy baked apricot in the mouth & a tangerine lifesaver on your tongue. Serving the Viognier: As is the case with all Le Cuvier white wines, this gold-toned white wine is fundamentally a red wine, so please don’t chill her any more than you would a fine red. 2008 Pinot Noir - Spring Club Pack New Release - Smoky black tea infused with flowering raspberry, stirred & spilled upon a Cardinal’s robe that was lifted during a wild night in a Chinese opium den, grunting earthy leather  - & one wonders how he got home -sage & roses sprinkled about, lovely, luscious, & as wicked as an abundantly ripe morello cherry dipping black currant sauce about to burst on your tooth.  Mustard greens are there too, in a lovely balance of earth & fruit.  2008 L’Enfant du Pape – Spring Club Pack New Release - Walk through a palm reader’s garnet drapes & you are led to a world of barberry & red licorice fruit leather, complex blue-purple violets, stones & sun, mordacious tar, yet cooled by camphor; thorny, roasted ripe tomatoes & red peppers in sage, meaty, all wrapped up in a mix of forest duff & coconut husk. 2008 Cabernet Franc – Spring Club Pack New Release - The deep garnet of black patent leather stilettos dipped in the darkest chocolate, dribbled with cassis, sprinkled with dried orange rind & candied cherries, all dusted with piquant red Hatchian chile powder. Lift your veil (a bit higher please) & you will sniff pistachios smoke-roasted over aromatic fruitwood, thyme, & plums aged with clove in minced meat. Displaying the vivid color of healthy noble blood, this wine is both rich & austere, with the sophisticated finish of a Duke’s monocle. Remaining cases available: 54

2008 Cabernet Sauvignon - Spring Club Pack New Release - Again & again, & not unlike the 2007 vintage, you’re looking towards a bright light through a deep dark lens of blackberry jam. Yes, blackberry & cassis, candied orange with lime peel, soy-chocolate umami. Umami is everywhere: crushed coriander seeds steeped in ink-black Turkish coffee floating with black & green pepper corns. All in all, an intemperate brew, rife with the sweat of the earth, but let us not forget the refined cedary note of pencil shavings riding on a long, long brambly finish of swarthy-ripe berries & roasted almonds.
